convention

R: Just a few photos of our convention last weekend – I can’t write too much about this, because I’ll end up giving things away… suffice to say… you must not miss a minute! By the end of the convention, I felt that the end of the world was much closer than when I started listening on Friday morning (which it was, of course, by 3 days, but you know what I mean.) Very direct and encouraging practical counsel on how to stay focussed on the Important Things. It helped me to remember why we moved here, and there were certain talks that helped me to see that we have made spiritual progress as a family in the last year. Each of the ten releases will be practical too.

The children were, on the whole, very good. We stayed in a hotel for the weekend, which gave a holiday feel to the convention. The kids splashed about like maniacs in the pool at the end of the day, ate like monsters, and slept like logs all night.

John Eckmire had a talk on Friday morning, during which Jason gave a soliloquy. It was very powerful – about keeping a simple life. The drama of course was a highlight, and really touched the emotions.
How well we are looked after spiritually – now it’s a case of continuing to keep Jehovah’s Day in the front of our minds, so that we can make sure we make it. One brother, in illustrating how this life is temporary, explained that none of us are ‘home’ right now. We are all making do, until we reach the New World, and then we will all be ‘home’. How true for me – I hope I’ll be home before much longer. See you there.

  • Hi Rebecca

You have really built up anticipation for the forthcoming convention. I am really looking forward to it. 10 releases, sounds exciting!

Love the pictures. Looks like you all had a lovely, up-building time. George is so cute still. How is his speech going? Is he still keeping all those lovely thoughts to himself?

Fantastic to see how you’ve all come in such a short space of time. Particularly in your spiritual advancement as a family. Keep it up, as it is a real encouragement for us.

We still miss you all loads, but it’s really reassuring to know that you guy’s are well, being blessed spiritually and your lives are moving on.

How is the house hunting going? and is Jason still in employment?

May Jehovah continue to bless you all.

We appreciate the updates. Thank you.

    Lots of Warm Christian Love

P.S He has just got over having chicken pox, so yesterday was his 1st day back at school after 2 weeks off. He had to sit a level 3 Maths SATs test on the 1st day back.

    Hi Guys,

Just Brilliant, everything looks wonderful and you all look so fresh and non-harrassed as can be sometimes at conventions ~ well we all know what “Twickers” was like.

Jason ~ you look so fab, yep definitely an Academy Award in there somewhere.

The ache seeing you all is really still hard and yep, you guessed it, the tears are rolling ~ missing you all very much.

Good to hear that Ja, has now got a permanent job and things are looking better and brighter.

We have much to look forward to at the Convention. John & I have to be at all three as we are working. But of course it will all be a new experience for us, having Hayes Bridge as our Convention site.

Love you all and will email soon. Chrissie Nicks. XXxx

  • Hi Rebecca,

We have just had our convention this past weekend at Hays Bridge and it was a pleasure and a dream to be there. Unfortunately I was only able to make Sunday due to health but I made the most of the day and remained alert the whole time.

Like you I appreciated what the brother said at your convention that ‘we are not home right now and we are only making do.’ I wholeheartedly agree! This body, health, life and pressures are not how it is supposed to be but we know why it has to be for this time and what awaits us in the near future. Let’s keep supporting and encouraging each other through these last days.

The spiritual advancement of your family is the greatest thing and I thank Jehovah for that!

    Lots of love,

    Esme x
